If you want to take a day trip to the Golden Triangle, travel to Kengtung in Shan State. This is where the so-called Golden Triangle is located, which can only be reached separately. The Golden Triangle is formed by Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos. The beautiful city of Kengtung has many winding streets that meander wildly around and over the hills of the landscape. On the outskirts of the city stands a solitary tree, called Lone Tree, which is highly revered. Long walks and admirable markets should be visited early in the day so that you can find yourself in the midst of colorful hustle and bustle and become part of a strong culture. Equally unique are the many monasteries, which were built of wood and reflect the architectural features of the region. And if that's not deep and moving enough for you, take a day hike to the various villages and different tribes. Probably the most famous tribe is the "WA," who have lived in the border area between China and Burma for many centuries. Their black teeth and black clothing are typical and striking.
