As the peaks towards Bwindi National Park rise higher and higher, the road winds its way through the deep valleys at their feet. You look up again and see increasingly dense rainforest on the steep slopes, with a fine mist hanging in the air: this is where the human-populated landscape ends and pristine nature begins! Soon you will come into close contact with a strange world, inhabited by the largest living primates on the planet: the mountain gorillas. More than half of the global population survives in the unspoiled jungle areas of Uganda.
