Gangkhar Puensum is the name of the highest mountain on earth that has never been climbed by humans. Its icy summit rises 7,570 meters above sea level and could well be considered a symbol of the Kingdom of Bhutan, which stretches out at its feet. Much of the area is adorned with green forests and the foothills of the Himalayas, where lush exoticism meets the cool serenity of rocky giants. Most settlements are located at an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 meters, and the impressive cultural sights seem closer to heaven than to earth. The famous Tiger's Nest Monastery is one of them, perched at a lofty height between gray rocks and lush green vegetation. Colorful prayer flags welcome guests who have made the climb. What an adventure!
