Six Senses Paro

Paro
from $1,590

Experience the fascinating stone ruins of Paro up close. Perched 2,250 meters above the valley floor, this lodge was designed to showcase one of the most scenic areas of the Six Senses Bhutan journey. Surrounded by pine forests and just a few minutes' walk from several ancient monasteries, the resort offers magical views of the Paro Valley, unforgettable moments among the historic stone ruins, and authentic experiences at every turn. The spirit of the region resonates throughout the traditionally inspired suites and villas with their simple lines, wooden furniture, and local decorative elements, as well as in the treatments at the Six Senses Spa and on various excursions to surrounding attractions.

Find peace at Six Senses Spa Paro – however you like, whether it's with one of the traditional treatments, meditation in the meditation cave, sun salutations in the yoga studio, or working out in the gym before swimming a few laps in the indoor pool. Paro also offers a wide range of activities: a hike to the Tiger's Nest at sunrise or lighting lamps at sunset in Samtenling Monastery are a great way to start and end your day. In between, you have a whole day to visit Jele Dzong Monastery, go mushroom picking, or admire the region from above on a helicopter flight.

The spacious suites feature large windows offering breathtaking views of the valley. Neutral, relaxing colors are complemented by the simple lines of natural wood furniture and local elements such as Bukharis—traditional wood-burning stoves—and plant-dyed, antique-washed Himalayan rugs. Up to twelve guests can enjoy luxurious accommodation in the only three-bedroom villa in the Paro Valley. Here you can enjoy complete privacy in spacious indoor and outdoor areas, as well as walls clad with hand-hewn stone from the region. Private dinners can be arranged by one of the chefs while you enjoy the view of the unspoiled Paro Valley from the terrace.

"Eat With Six Senses" is the guiding philosophy for tasty and healthy dishes prepared from organic local produce. Take a trip back in time with a sumptuous open-air dinner amid 12th-century ruins, or visit a local farmhouse for an authentic Bhutanese dining experience. The hotel restaurant delights with a cosmopolitan menu that incorporates Asian, Indian, Western, and local influences, with an emphasis on very fresh, organic products.

Details of Six Senses Paro

The Paro Valley is one of the most scenic areas on the Six Senses Bhutan tour. Due to its exceptional location among historic ruins, Six Senses Paro is sometimes referred to as "Stone Ruins." This unique lodge is located at an altitude of 2,250 meters amid a mix of small villages, historic buildings, monuments, and sophisticated terraced fields where rice, barley, and wheat are mainly grown. The idyllic Paro Chhu flows through the valley, and the town of Paro is nearby. Of course, the exclusive accommodations in the complex are anything but ruins.
