from $493

With an elegant restaurant, dazzling décor, and impeccable service at your fingertips, Almanac Barcelona is the ideal starting point for a glamorous city break. Spectacular views are guaranteed—whether from the multi-level rooftop terrace, the rooftop bar, or the secluded skyline pool, the choice is yours. The hotel's central location is also a highlight: Las Ramblas, the historic old town, the Sagrada Familia, and the beach are all within easy reach. Nevertheless, all of the hotel's rooms and suites are extremely quiet and resemble small designer cocoons – a welcome escape from everyday life, while the vibrant city awaits you right outside the door.

The main attraction of the hotel is the multi-level rooftop terrace, which offers spectacular panoramic views of Barcelona and its many attractions. The elegant swimming pool promises wonderful refreshment on warm summer days, while the Azimuth Bar on the roof offers a fabulous backdrop and unforgettable views, especially at sunset. Other facilities include a wellness center with a well-equipped fitness area and a treatment room with sauna. Let yourself drift through Barcelona: the iconic Las Ramblas and the historic old town are just a five-minute walk away. The concierge will be happy to make individual recommendations or organize tailor-made experiences for you, allowing you to immerse yourself deeply in the culture of this colorful city.

The 61 rooms and 30 suites are extremely inviting and feature cube-shaped bay windows, charming balconies, or private terraces from which you can watch the hustle and bustle of the streets below. The rooms are decorated in muted taupe and gray tones, with dark wood and brass accents, sculptural armchairs, and chic marble bathrooms with huge walk-in rain showers and toiletries designed especially by master perfumer Jimmy Boyd. The exquisite Terrace Suite delights with a dreamlike wraparound terrace with ample seating, all-day sunshine, and a great view of the city. In addition, each room has its own smartphone, which you can use to control the lighting and heating while on the go, make free local and international calls, and connect directly to the concierge.

The modern and chic Virens restaurant is one of the hottest spots in town and is also very popular with locals. With its geometric patterns, smooth marble walls, midnight blue velvet furniture, and golden cocktail bar, the restaurant shines not only for its cuisine. It is run by Michelin-starred chef Rodrigo de la Calle, who previously worked as a culinary consultant for French chef Joel Robuchon. In addition to a few organic meat and fish dishes, the culinary focus is on healthy plant-based cuisine, which primarily uses seasonal Catalan vegetables. Enjoy a stylish sundowner at the Azimuth Bar on the roof, where you can take in the view of the city with a few snacks and relax as the evening draws to a close.
