The eco-friendly Aurari Camp is located near the Mara River in northern Serengeti. Four sustainable tented suites provide comfortable and authentic accommodation, while game drives offer a particularly exciting experience. Keep an eye out for the legendary "Big Five" or visit at the right time of year to witness the great wildebeest migration at the river up close. At night, you can listen to the occasional roar of lions – it doesn't get much more wild than this!
After an aromatic wake-up coffee, the first exciting safari with numerous animal sightings awaits. Among other things, you can encounter prides of lions, Nile crocodiles, rare black rhinos, leopards, and large herds of hippos in the untouched landscape. Game drives, bird watching, lunch in the bush, hot air balloon rides, and stargazing could also be on the agenda. And even then, there is still more to see: take a day trip to Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater or visit a real Maasai village.
The accommodations at Aurari Camp include four beautiful tented suites made of canvas and local teak wood. Each suite can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children and is divided into a bedroom, a living area, a bathroom wing, and a private veranda from which you can admire spectacular African sunrises. Natural light, Egyptian cotton bedding, handmade Maasai mirrors, and locally produced furniture exude an authentic savanna flair.
In the Mara, the camp's dining tent, you can enjoy meals prepared to order – vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options are also available on request. All dishes are prepared with fresh, local ingredients. Highlights include Kilimanjaro beer chicken and the typical Tanzanian dessert Maziwa ya kukaanga – let yourself be surprised. The Waterhole Bar serves light snacks and drinks between the afternoon and evening. End the evening with a safari sundowner by the fire pit. The hibiscus gin and tonic with locally harvested limes is fantastic.
