Babylonstoren is perhaps the most stylish hotel in the Winelands, delighting guests with modern details that contrast with the historic Cape Dutch architecture and sophisticated design. The eight-hectare kitchen garden and the famous Babel restaurant are absolute highlights, bringing you closer to the unique flavors of South Africa in an interactive way. As a fully functioning farm and winery, the hotel delights with its beautiful nature, culture, and the best wines from its own production. The surrounding landscape is perfect for a relaxing stay and a variety of outdoor activities for young and old.

Look forward to an exceptional spa, award-winning wines, and warm country-style hospitality. The eight-hectare vegetable garden with more than 300 edible plants, watered by babbling brooks, also contributes to your complete relaxation. There is also a magnificent dam-style swimming pool and plenty of bicycles and canoes for exploring the farm and its surroundings. Even the youngest guests will be thrilled – encounters with farm animals, exciting activities, and the magnificent backdrop of South Africa ensure that there is never a dull moment.

The original farm hotel offers complete privacy with just 13 suites in traditional cottages lining the shady avenue to the restaurant. Enjoy the historically authentic sight of small windows with cute shutters and green doors in thick, whitewashed walls. The larger cottages with one or two bedrooms delight with their Cape Dutch style and modern glass cubes that house a kitchen and dining table. Large fireplaces provide pleasant warmth, the bathrooms are spacious and luxurious, and the kitchens are stocked with complimentary fruit, olive oil, rooibos tea, and wine from the hotel's own production.

Due to unbroken demand, reservations for the Babel Restaurant are accepted up to two months in advance. Almost everything that ends up on your plate comes from the restaurant's own garden. The variety of dishes is truly astonishing. The red, green, and yellow salads are a highlight, and the meat portions are generous—most are served on the bone in the simple country style preferred by Maranda Engelbrecht. The Greenhouse is an excellent option for lunch. The breakfast selection is also huge, ranging from various handmade mueslis, honeycombs, eggs, and fresh fruit to delicious yogurts and a hot menu.

Details of Babylonstoren Wine Estate & Farm
