A luxury vacation at Bamurru Plains will sharpen your eye for Australia's unique and special nature and environment. Watch hundreds of birds glide over the infinity-edge pool, keep an eye out for large saltwater crocodiles in the shallows as you glide over the floodplains in an airboat, or chug slowly across Sampan Creek as fish occasionally break the surface. On guided hikes and game drives, you'll have the pleasure of observing brumbies, buffalo, dingoes, and wallabies in their natural habitat. You're also likely to encounter the occasional fascinating reptile or insect.

Nine safari bungalows stand on stilts and offer views of the river floodplain. On three sides of the bungalows, floor-to-ceiling mesh walls allow you to look directly at the animals and wilderness on your doorstep. Aboriginal artwork and fish traps convey an authentic sense of the region's heritage. The largest bungalow is the Kingfisher Suite, which accommodates up to five people. Here, you can enjoy a large bedroom, a spacious living area, and a bathroom with two sinks and showers, all decorated with rustic wood and recycled corrugated iron walls.

Start the day with breakfast, which can be either experimental, featuring bush eggs and Australian "kutjera" bush tomatoes, or more traditional, with muesli, muffins, and yogurt. Lunch is served on the wildlife viewing platform overlooking the floodplains, while brumbies, buffalo, and wallabies roam before your eyes. Every evening, the field guides serve a sumptuous three-course meal at the long wooden table – here, too, the menu features unusual recipes inspired by the Australian bush.
