Converted into a modern grand hotel in 2012, the Café Royal still stands proudly on the corner of Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus, where a colorful mix of entertainment options await you. The 160 rooms, including 53 suites, are all beautifully and attractively designed, spacious, well-equipped, unobtrusive, and decorated in subtle tones. Selected modern art brings complementary colors into play. The suites are diverse: from the Regent Suite, which offers magnificent views of Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus, to the oak-paneled Tudor Suite, which extends around a fireplace, to the Royal Suite on the top floor, which is a masterpiece of open-plan design, and the Dome Suite on the top floor with a copper dome and roof terrace. The Italian marble bathrooms are equipped with rain showers and huge bathtubs and all feature Floris toiletries.
Laurent at Café Royal on the first floor is a grill and sushi bar run by chef Laurent Tourondel. With its mirrors and paneling and beautiful backlit bar, it is very stylish. The food is also beautifully presented – try the various steaks, including Wagyu, or the cauliflower couscous. At Bubbles & Cakes, master pastry chef Albert Adrià conjures up what is perhaps the best cheesecake in town. Afternoon tea is served in the red and gold Oscar Wilde Lounge, decorated with rich ornamentation, before it's time for a drink (or three) in the evening. Choose between the cool Green Room and Ziggy's, named after David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust.
In the huge basement, you will find another highlight of the hotel: the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Center with an idyllic 18-meter pool, hammam, sauna, whirlpool, and a well-equipped fitness room. Nine treatment rooms offer everything from facials and massages to unusual treatments, including water treatments in the Watsu pool and healing therapies that promise a whole new level of well-being.
