There are six private villas and three beautiful houses for families, all nestled in the botanical garden. The thatched wooden villas on stilts offer views of the savannah and the zebras and giraffes grazing there. With the same mix of décor as the rest of the camp, the rooms offer just the right dose of safari fantasy: four-poster beds with mosquito nets, delicate English furniture, fine wood floors, and exposed wooden beams. An oversized saltwater pool connects six of the villas, so you can refresh yourself at any time. The larger houses have private pools.
When it comes to preparing and presenting food, Segera sets new standards for a kind of effortless chic that is reserved for truly self-assured hosts. Chef Elizabeth, who hails from Laikipia, sources all her produce and beef from the region. Look forward to a variety of curries, carrot and feta cakes, and onion, papaya, and pepper salads. In the evening, dinner is served at long, candlelit tables on the farm. But surprise picnics and sundowners in the bush could also be on the agenda.
