Today, you will take a short domestic flight to Cusco. Your hotel is located in the heart of the old town and is a former palace. A wonderful excursion with a short and easy hike is on the agenda. You will start at the 17th-century cathedral and from there head to the Temple of the Sun, a beautiful example of the fusion of Inca and colonial architecture. After visiting the temple, you will leave the city and drive to Tambomachay (the resting place of the Incas). After a short hike, you will arrive at Puka Pukara, the red fortress. From here, a path leads to Kenko, the temple dedicated to Mother Earth. You will then hike to Sacsayhuaman, a fortress with spectacular views over the city of Cusco. What a panorama!

After a delicious breakfast, you will set off for the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will undertake the exciting hike along the Lares Trek in an international group, with an experienced English-speaking guide at your side. Experience the historic Inca trail system up close and, with a little luck, meet the descendants of the people who built the famous Machu Picchu. If you don't want to go hiking, our second option is available: you will drive to Awanacancha, visit a textile center to see the local dyeing technique, and then stroll through the Pisaq market.

Explore the village of Lamay before setting off on a trip to the unique archaeological site of Ancasmarca: a real insider tip, perfect for your own personal journey through time. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to choose between various hikes. There is something for everyone, from easy walks to crossing a mountain pass. The fascinating landscape of the region with its exotic nature will inspire you, no matter which path you choose.

During this stop in the Peruvian Andes, you also have two options to choose from, depending on your preferences. You can either explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas and local markets or go on a hike. If you choose the first option, you will travel to Calca, where the snow-capped mountains of Pitusiray and Sawasiray rise majestically. The town itself is built at an altitude of almost 3,000 meters, but here you will realize how "low" that can be. The day continues at a leisurely pace with a visit to the local market, where culinary and cultural inspiration await you.

The second option is a moderately difficult hike with a reward at the end: you will enjoy lunch with a fantastic view at an idyllic glacial lake! Both excursions end in Ollantaytambo.

Early risers have the opportunity to enjoy a hike to an Inca site to watch the fantastic sunrise. Afterwards, everyone sets off together for Ollantaytambo to see the historic fortress that gave the place its name. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a unique view across to Temple Mountain.

The famous panoramic train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu, takes you through deep gorges and past wonderful panoramas into the Inca hinterland. Get exclusive early access to the city in the clouds, Machu Picchu. With a little luck, the sun will just be rising over the famous citadel and you will have time to explore the excavation site at your leisure. A truly unique place! Climb the neighboring mountain Wayna Picchu for an incredible panoramic view of Machu Picchu itself.

In the evening, take the train to Cusco, where you can enjoy another night at your familiar hotel. You will notice that returning to familiar luxury is well worth it.
